An accountant is having a hard time sleeping and goes to see his doctor.
"Doctor, I just can't get to sleep at night."
"Have you tried counting sheep?"
"That's the problem - I make a mistake and then spend three hours trying to find it."
Regular contributors to e-News will include...
Regan Loach
Regan was born a 'mainlander' down in rural Mid Canterbury, where he started his accounting career after completing his degree at the University of Canterbury.
He moved up to the sunny Hawke's Bay in 2004 and joined BWR, and he's now an Associate Director of the firm. He also likes to flex his computer muscles when time permits, by helping out our IT team. He likes working with start-up and emerging businesses, and enjoys the tax and research side of his role. He heads up our Technical Advisory Group (the TAG Team!) which is proud to bring you these newsletters.
Regan is one of the sportsmen (and women!) at BWR, particularly enjoying hockey and cricket. His BWR-sponsored Cornwall cricket team had a successful summer, taking out 1st place in their league. Go you good things! He's also pretty handy with a squash racquet, playing in local competitions with his workmates.
Regan will be reporting on strategic and general business management issues.

Donna Aroa
Donna's a local girl, born in the Bay and recognising early how lucky we are to live in New Zealand's best kept secret. She studied her BBS at Massey extramurally while being a proud Mum to her three children. She joined BWR in 2003 after working in banking for some years and now heads up the Dine team.
She is another of our sports bunnies, playing competition netball for Clive and is the Captain Fantastic of the BWR social netball team. In her spare time she likes spending time with her family and enjoys an active social life. Her most recent social interest is the movie night she and her friends regularly attend as a substitute for "book club" - steadfastly maintaining the shorter pursuit is a better fit in their busy lives (and allowing more time for Dionysian activities).
Donna has a particular interest in Human Resources, and will be sharing her HR knowledge with us.

Craig Riddiford
Craig's a Hawke's Bay man born and bred. He attended Central Hawkes Bay College and joined one of our forerunner companies 'Brown Webb Ltd' in 1997. Craig studied for his CA qualifications extramurally while working.
In 2006 Craig took a sabbatical with his young family to Scotland where they lived and worked for a year. They came back to Godzone in 2007, when Craig rejoined BWR as an Associate Director.
Craig is another of our sports-people and is very involved with his beloved Napier Old Boys Marist RFC. He still enjoys playing rugby - when he can remain injury-free! Craig's a big family man and likes to spend as much of his leisure with them as he can.
Our Craig is a bit of a guru regarding tax matters in particular, and will be bringing to your attention current and pending taxation issues.

Matt Bron
Matt is again a local boy. One of his most-heard comments around the office is "I am not an accountant!". He is instead the person most commonly referred to as the "computer guy".
Matt joined our other forerunner firm 'Richardson Epplett and Partners' in 2000, shortly after completing his BCS through EIT/Unitec. While studying he kept himself amused writing custom software applications and building web sites. His position is ICT Manager and his primary task is to keep the BWR systems running smoothly. He takes great pleasure in helping our clients with all manner of computer-related issues and one of his favourite catch-cries is "If you can think it, we can do it".
He has passed the sporting mantle onto his two children who carry the family flag proudly. He is an accomplished couch-referee/umpire and not one afraid to voice his own particular interpretation of the rules! In his spare time he likes to get out on our Hawke's Bay roads on his bike... that's 'motor', not 'push'.
Matt will endeavour to keep you up-to-date with the fast-paced world of IT, as well as providing tips and tricks to help keep you safe and secure, and make your computing experience more enjoyable and productive.

And another thing...
Ever wondered just what your animals are thinking? Could the 'Google Translate' application for the Android (like an i-Phone, only different) be the new 'must have' tool for farmers wanting to really open lines of communication with their stock?
